SHOUTOUT – FRIDAY, 5/2/25 – SEALCOATING

Hello Whiting Station residents. Here’s another exciting message regarding the sealcoating project:

Before I get to the message, Mike, the Architectural and Common Grounds Trustee, and I want to thank every one of the residents who has helped to make this project go smoothly by making sure that they’re not parking in the work areas or driving in the freshly applied material. Bravo everyone!

The project is due to be concluded on Monday. Gardenia Drive, from Lily Court to Morning Glory Lane by the Clubhouse intersection, will be closed on Monday. Of course, this is all dependent upon the weather. We will get a message out as quickly as we know, if the planned work must be postponed due to weather.

SHOUTOUT – FRIDAY, 5/2/25 – BINGO TONIGHT

Hello Whiting Station residents and all you bingo people! Good news, bingo is on for tonight, Friday evening. However, you can only enter and exit the parking lot from the entrance adjacent to the Station Hall sign due to the sealcoating project. Also note that the ramp on the front side of the building is likewise closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Therefore, please use only the rear Ballroom door when entering the building.
If Deb Cassens told you bingo was canceled, she was just kidding! Honestly, plans have changed.
Hope to see you there and I hope you win big!

There will also be private party tomorrow evening in the Ballroom. The clubhouse will be open during the event; however, as a reminder, it is requested whenever there is a private party, please use the front lobby door to enter the building.

Hello Whiting Station residents. This is another gentle, but not-so-gentle reminder about the seal coating project on Gardenia, the Clubhouse parking lot, community entrances and Lily Court. On-street overnight parking rules will be suspended during this project, beginning tonight.

This project is due to start tomorrow, Wednesday, April 30th.

ALL VEHICLES MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE PARKING LOT AND THE GARDENIA DR. ENTRANCE FROM LACEY RD. TO THE MORNING GLORY INTERSECTION, AS SHADED IN RED ON THE PROJECT MAP BY 7:00 A.M ON WEDNESDAY MORNING. Any vehicle parked in the designated work area for that particular day will be towed at the owner’s expense.

During this project, trash pick-up and lawn service will be suspended on Gardenia Drive and Lily Court.

Please remember that this schedule is subject to change based on the weather and all residents will be notified of any changes via a map or Shoutout

As an additional bonus, the Ocean County Office of Senior Services “On-the-Go-Van” will visit our clubhouse parking lot on the day of Bagel Bash from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Representatives from Ocean County Senior Services will be here to provide information about their programs, answer questions, and assist residents who may need help completing applications.

Medicare (SHIP Counseling)
Older Americans Act Programs
SNAP
Caregiver Resources
Utility Assistance

One additional item to all: The Residents Club is always taking donations of perishable, non-expired foods, household items, and personal items for the local food bank. If residents could remember to bring a food bank donation any time, we have an event or occasion to visit the clubhouse, we can really help make a difference for those in our area in need.

SHOUTOUT – WEDNESDAY 4/9/25 – TOWNSHIP BRUSH / STICKS PICK-UP

This is a friendly reminder that the Township is conducting a courtesy brush and/or sticks pick-up tomorrow, Thursday, April 10th. They will pick up any neat piles of sticks, garden debris, or small brush as outlined on page 16 of our April issue of The Express. Many of you may say, “Why waste my energy when Turfmasters will be Spring cleaning my lawn next Friday, April 18th?” You are absolutely correct; Turfmasters will be performing their Spring blow out of your garden beds and Spring clean-up next Friday. However, for those who have the stamina and drive to keep our community clean and safe, please take this opportunity to check your surrounding wooded areas and remove any piles of sticks that are either an eyesore or are a potential fire hazard. Sticks or small branches must be stacked in neat parallel piles and be less than 3 inches in diameter and no longer than 4 feet in length. No bushes with roots will be picked up. Any botanical refuse must be left in consolidated piles on our main roads, not on our fingers. Also, please do not park your cars near these piles tomorrow so the workers can see what needs to be picked up and can get to them.

Thank you for your attention and have a great day.

SHOUTOUT – TUESDAY 4/8/25 – MANCHESTER TWP FIRE HYDRANT FLUSHING

The Township of Manchester Department of Public Works offers this FREE pick-up and disposal service twice a year. The Whiting Station pick-up is scheduled for Thursday, April 10, 2025. This is your opportunity to get rid of large branches and sticks from your yard. You may place acceptable items on the edges of our main roads (NOT on the fingers) two days prior to pick-up date. Please consolidate and place items on one side of the main streets only.

  • LEAVES & PINE NEEDLES must be raked to the curb in a single row where they will be vacuumed up by the Township machinery. Please maintain a clear path.

SHOUTOUT – SATURDAY 4/5/25 – POOL REPAIR SUNDAY NOISE

Hello Whiting Station residents. This message is on behalf of the Board of Trustees. Hopefully you’ve noticed the renovation of the pool is going along smoothly. This message is specifically to address the possibility that the contractors may be working tomorrow, April 6th, on the pool.

As we all know, power tools are not to be used on a Sunday as per our regulations. If the weather cooperates, the contractor has requested to work tomorrow for half a day in order to keep on schedule for our pool opening. As such, the Board has approved this request. We thank you for your understanding.

SHOUTOUT – FRIDAY 4/4/25 – COMMUNITY CLEANUP

Whiting Station will be holding a cleanup event at our Community entrances on Tuesday April 22,  at 10:00 am. We will meet in the Clubhouse to get gloves, bags and safety vests; then pick up trash on the sides of Schoolhouse Road and Lacey Road immediately adjacent to our entrances.

Thank you for your participation!

SHOUTOUT – WEDNESDAY 3/26/25 – GARBAGE/RECYCLING

Hello Whiting Station residents.  This message is on behalf of the Board of Trustees.  We have had numerous windy days when recycling garbage has been blown all over the community because either the items were not in the proper recycling container or the container blew/fell over and the contents spilled out. When possible, please crush or cut up cardboard and place it into the recycling container.  Recycling services are provided by Manchester Township and you may place recyclables curbside the night before the scheduled day; however, if the weather is windy, please do not put out the container until the morning of the pickup, if possible, or weigh the container down which will keep it from falling over.  Additionally, if you see items on the street, please pick them up and dispose of them properly.

If you need additional clarification on trash and recycling, please refer to the Rules and Regulations provided to all homeowners in January; Chapter IV, Section 1-F.

Please be responsible and store all trash/recyclables properly, as we all want our community to look attractive even on garbage/recycling days.

Thank you.

SHOUTOUT – MONDAY 2/10/25 – SNOW EVENT TOMORROW NIGHT

Hello Whiting Station residents.  This is Barbara Hubbard, HOA trustee for lawn and snow services.  It looks like we will be expecting a significant amount of snow tomorrow night. Snow will begin around 4 PM Tuesday with heavy snow accumulations in the evening.  We will likely be plowing either late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.  I want to remind you that the plows will first clean our roads, followed by our driveways.  For those who park in the Clubhouse lot, you can leave your cars in the lot so the crew can plow your driveway. However, once your driveway is plowed, it is important that you remove your car from the Clubhouse lot so the plows can clear the lot efficiently. If you park your car in your driveway, please pull up as close to your garage as possible so they can clear the snow that accumulates from plowing at the end of your driveway. Once all the plowing is complete, the workers will then hand shovel our sidewalks and front of our garages.  Please remember that they will take care of all folks with medical necessity first.  Have a good day and stay safe.

Items must be curbside no later than 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Thank you for keeping our Community a clean and inviting place to live.

Have a great weekend and stay warm!

SHOUTOUT – MONDAY 1/20/25 – BOARD MEETING REMINDER

Good afternoon Whiting Station residents.  This message is from your Board of Trustees.  As a reminder, the January Board Meeting is a live forum/meeting scheduled for tomorrow, January 21st starting at 7:00 p.m.

Due to the extremely cold weather predicted for tomorrow, the meeting may be modified to include a Zoom/simulcast portion.  We will send a shoutout tomorrow if this change is added.

Stay warm!

SHOUTOUT – 01/08/25 – MEDICAL NECESSITY LIST

This is Barbara Hubbard, calling regarding the snow plowing service here at Whiting Station.  I am in the process of updating our “Medical Necessity” list that we use during snowstorms.  This list tells the plow workers who and where to plow first so that residents with a medical necessity have quicker access to medical services.  If you or your loved one has a medical necessity and would like to put your name on this list, please call me at 973-879-4708.  If leaving a voice message, please state that you would like to be on this list and leave your name and house number.  You can also call the Clubhouse office.

SHOUTOUT – 01/06/25 – PLOWING ROADS AND FINGERS ONLY

This is Barbara Hubbard with a brief message to inform you that we decided to plow and salt our main roads and fingers tonight. Although less than 3 inches of snow fell today, we felt it best to remove as much snow from our roads as possible.  The temperature will remain extremely cold this week so there will be minimal melting; we want to be proactive and salt our streets to prepare for another possible snowstorm next week. Please be aware that we will not be plowing our driveways tonight.  For those parking in the clubhouse lot, please remove your cars, if possible, and park in your driveway or main road until our clubhouse lot is plowed.   If your car is left in the lot during plowing, you may have an icy snow pile left in front of your car due to plowing.  Thanks for your understanding.

SHOUTOUT – SATURDAY 1/04/25 – FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON

This is Barbara Hubbard, Trustee responsible for clearing snow after storms. It looks like we will get some snow on Monday, January 6th, so I would like to go over some key points regarding snow removal. If snow accumulation reaches 3 inches, we will have Turfmasters remove the snow from driveways, roads, sidewalks and clubhouse parking lot.

  1. Homes on the medical necessity list will be addressed first. If you have a medical need and are not on the list, please inform me via email or phone.
  2. Driveways will be cleared first by machine, followed later by hand shoveling against the garage doors. If your car is parked in the clubhouse lot, you can leave it there until your driveway is cleared. However, once the snow is removed from your driveway, you must retrieve your vehicle from the clubhouse lot and park in your driveway so the workers have access to the lot for clearing. During snow removal, no parking is allowed on main roadways (Gardenia, Petunia, Morning Glory, Orchid, Lily)
  3. If your car is parked in the driveway during snow removal, please pull your car as close to the garage as possible to allow the workers to remove any snow blocking your driveway (that was left from street plowing).
  4. Once all plowing is complete, workers will shovel residents’ driveways and front walkways.
  5. Salting of resident driveways and sidewalks is the resident’s responsibility.

A copy of our snow policy is available on our Whiting Station website under the “Homeowners Association” tab. Be safe and stay warm.
