SHOUTOUT – 2026-02-24 – SNOW CLEARING UPDATE
We appreciate your patience with the removal of the 24 or better inches of snow that we received.
This notice is to advise you that all driveways, if not already cleared, will be done by tomorrow morning.
Also, the shovelers are here now; they work until dark, and will return in the morning.
I hope this puts you at ease knowing that you will be out and about tomorrow, if need be.
SHOUTOUT – 2026-02-23 – BUS SCHEDULE CANCELLATION
Due to weather and safety issues, the scheduled bus trips for Tuesday, 2/24. and Wednesday, 2/25, are cancelled. We are hoping to resume the regular schedule for Friday, 2/27.
SHOUTOUTS – SUNDAY, 2/22/26 – STORM EVENT and SNOW CLEARING
The NJ Governor has declared a state of emergency as of today, February 22. With winds gusting as high as 50 MPH, blizzard conditions are expected, as well as overnight snow accumulations between 20 and 24 inches. All residents are advised to stay off the roads for the duration of the storm. This will also enable TurfMasters to freely move about the community. All residents are advised to move their vehicles into their garage, or the center of the Clubhouse parking lot, or up to their garage door. Please remember that if you keep your car in your driveway, the width of the plow blades is set and they will only plow from behind your car. They will not manually shovel the driveways. Also, as a reminder, TurfMasters is not responsible for any items in the driveway or walkway areas that are broken during the plowing process. If you have something that is in your driveway please make sure that it is removed to avoid damage. One last piece of information – although we have not had official word from the county, it is a likely probability that garbage pickup on Monday will be skipped.
As you are hearing through various media outlets, this storm is no joke. We are expecting to exceed 2 feet of wet snow. Since we are a small community with narrow fingers and tight spaces, we will need to move massive amounts of snow and will need places to put it. For this storm, snow may be placed on your lawn, although that is not a preferred method. There is no space to pile up this amount of snow. The plowed snow is primarily going to be placed in the Clubhouse parking lot along Gardenia Drive. Residents who have a vehicle remaining in those spaces will be plowed in. Again, all cars need to be placed in the center of the Clubhouse parking lot.
Residents who wish to keep their cars in their driveway should park as close to the garage door as possible. The driveway will then be plowed from the car to the street only. There will be no manual shoveling of the driveways. After the snow stops falling, the shoveling of sidewalks will begin, starting with those on the emergency list, followed by the rest of the community walkways being shoveled. Please note this may not take place until Tuesday, depending upon what time the storm ends.
Again, thank you everyone for your attention. Please ensure that you remain inside and stay safe.
SHOUTOUT – 02/16/2026 – RESIDENTS CLUB AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OPEN MEETINGS
This is a reminder that this evening, February 17th, both the Residents Club and the Board of Trustees will have our monthly open meetings. The Residents Club will have refreshments beginning at 6:00 and their meeting will begin at 6:30. Immediately after that the Board of Trustees meeting will start at 7:00 PM.
We look forward to seeing you there.
This is an important message from your HOA President, Joe Hearon:
Hello, Whiting Station residents.
I know all too well that some of you are not happy with the contracted snow clearing services and the results during this recent snowstorm. I include myself and my team in that level of dissatisfaction.
This message is specifically to address the tone and nasty way that some of you have chosen to express your dissatisfaction.
Let me remind you that we, the Trustees, are not the contractor. We are volunteers—your neighbors—the people who are serving this community as best we can, and we have hired contractors whom we hope are doing the same.
The volume of nasty emails, phone calls, Facebook posts, and other communication directed to me and to the team is unacceptable.
If you need something, ask. We will do everything within our ability to try to accommodate your request. However, if you cannot communicate without being rude and nasty, we will hang up or not respond to such calls, voicemails, or emails until you figure out how to ask for what you need in a polite and respectful manner.
The amount of stress, strife and anguish that has been leveled at us due to someone else not doing their job adequately is unacceptable. Please hear this message – it will not be accepted and will not be tolerated anymore!
If you need something, we’ll do the best we can to get it for you. Folks, we always have. But the manner in which you request your needs must change. And for those of you who have communicated in a civil manner, thank you very much. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
I hope this message reaches everyone and I really hope that we can all start communicating in a respectful way and stop accusing us of not caring. We are all dealing with the same issues you are.
Thank you for your cooperation, and please be safe.
SHOUTOUT – 01/23/2026 – UPCOMING STORM SNOW CLEARING
While forecasts are still uncertain, we are anticipating and preparing for snow this coming weekend. The following outlines the procedures we will be following during this snow event:
- At the 3-inch mark, TurfMasters will start to plow the main streets, followed by the fingers.
- Once the snow stops, plowing of driveways will begin.
- Regarding your walkways, shoveling will commence after the snow stops.
We ask that you be patient. It will take a while and most likely will not be completed until Monday afternoon.
Please note: Prior to the walkways being shoveled, if you need to exit your house, please use your garage to enter and exit; at that point, your driveway will have been plowed.
If you have an urgent situation or need immediate medical attention or assistance, or go for dialysis treatment, call the Office of Emergency Management at 732-341-3451. This telephone number is for Ocean County and is staffed around the clock.
Lastly, the Clubhouse parking lot will be plowed the following day (Tuesday). By this time, all cars need to be removed so the entire parking lot can be plowed.
Again, thank you for your cooperation and patience, and stay safe.
This is the current Ocean County Health Department list of Code Blue locations (storm places of respite):

SHOUTOUT – THURSDAY, 12/19/25 – SECOND REMINDER: NEW HOA MONTHLY FEE FOR 2026
This is a second reminder that, effective January 1, 2026, the new monthly HOA fee will be $189.00.
If you have set up with your bank to automatically send your HOA fee each month, please remember to change the dollar amount once your December payment has been processed by your bank.
If you would like to set up automatic payments from your bank, please stop by the HOA Office to pick up an instruction form or you can email the Office at whitingstation@verizon.net to request it.
SHOUTOUT – MONDAY, 12/15/25 – SNOW SERVICE UPDATE
Turfmasters is back today to continue cleaning up after yesterday’s snowstorm. Unfortunately, they did not complete sidewalk or driveway shoveling last night and now the snow has turned to ice. Because of this, and the extremely low temperatures today, Turfmasters will only be shoveling for those folks with an immediate medical necessity. They will resume shoveling for the rest of us once the temperature permits. In the interim, please be patient and use your garage as an entrance to and from your home.
Today, Turfmasters will be salting our main roads and will eventually complete salting of all roads and fingers. However, with this extreme cold temperature, salt will not help until the temperature increases a bit. The snow left on our roads is now ice so please be very careful when walking and driving.
If you have an immediate medical necessity and your sidewalks are still not cleared, please get in touch with Barbara Hubbard by phone at 973-879-4708. They will do their best to meet your needs.
SHOUTOUT – SUNDAY. 12/14/25 – SNOW PLOWING TODAY, DECEMBER 14TH
We have entered the winter season with some snowfall today. The storm will begin to subside by midday, with accumulations that merit full snow removal services. Just a reminder – Turfmasters will first plow our roads, followed by our driveways.
For those who park in the Clubhouse lot, you may leave your cars in the lot so the crews can plow your driveway; however, once your driveway is plowed, it is important that you remove your car from the Clubhouse lot so the plows can clear the snow efficiently.
Once all the plowing is complete, the workers will then hand-shovel our sidewalks and the front of our garages. After removing the snow, Turfmasters will then salt the roads and fingers. It is each resident’s responsibility to salt their personal driveways and sidewalks.
Please note that service will take care of all folks with medical necessity first.
SHOUTOUT – 12/ 12/25 – LAST DAY OF SEASONAL LAWN SERVICE – TODAY, DECEMBER 12TH
This is a reminder that Turfmasters will be performing their final leaf cleanup today, December 12th.
This service will include complete blow-outs of easily accessible patio and deck areas and complete blow-out of garden beds surrounding each home. Being the last day of service for the season, the mowers and blowers will be taking this cleanup very seriously, so please remove any items from your property or secure any pet doors, etc. that can be damaged by this blowout. Especially if you have leaves on your porch, please remove any loose items that can be damaged or disturbed by the blowers.
If you do NOT want this blow-out service, please pink-flag your garden beds and areas appropriately.
Today is the final day of Turfmasters 2025 residential lawn service. After today, Turfmasters’ responsibility will be snow removal service for the winter season.
SHOUTOUT – THURSDAY, 12/11/25 – NEW HOA FEE FOR 2026
This is a reminder that, effective January 1, 2026, the new monthly HOA fee will be $189.00.

The Whiting Station HOA staff and Trustees wish all our residents a very happy and safe Thanksgiving Holiday!
Here are a few reminders for the next couple of days:
- Please remember that since Thursday is a holiday, garbage pickup this week will be on Friday, most likely early in the morning, so place receptacles at the curb Thursday evening, if possible.
- Friday is also a scheduled recycling pickup day.
- The landscapers will be here blowing leaves out of beds and cutting lawns.

SHOUTOUT – 11/24/25 – BEGINNING MAJOR LEAF CLEANUP FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 28TH
This is a reminder that Turfmasters will be performing their major leaf cleanup services this Friday, November 28th . This service will include complete blow-outs of easily accessible patio and deck areas and complete blow-out of garden beds surrounding each home. To prevent any damage, please remove any items from your property that can be blown away or damaged by this blow-out before this Friday. This will be one of three major leaf cleanup services this season. If you do NOT want this blow-out service, please pink-flag your garden beds and areas appropriately.
Also, as Barbara Hubbard, our Lawncare Trustee, will be unavailable this week, please contact our HOA Board President, Joe Hearon, if you have any questions or concerns in Barbara’s absence. You can contact Joe by his HOA email at ws.boardoftrustees@gmail.com. This email address can be found on the inner cover of any issue of our Whiting Station Express Newsletter.
SHOUTOUT – 11/14/25 – LEAF BLOW-OUT THIS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15TH
We have just been informed that Turfmasters is providing a free leaf blow-out this Saturday, along with their scheduled lawn mowing and leaf removal. They will be blowing out the flower beds surrounding homes and blowing out back patios, if easily accessible (front porches are not included). To prevent any potential damage, please remove any items that can be blown away or damaged by this blow-out. If you do NOT want this blow-out service, please pink-flag your garden beds appropriately.
SHOUTOUT – 11/13/25 – LAWN MOWING THIS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15TH
This is an update that Turfmasters will be coming this Saturday, November 15th, rather than tomorrow, November 14th, to mow our lawns and remove any accumulated leaves. Please be aware that major leaf cleanup, including blowing out of flowerbeds surrounding our homes, will not begin until Friday, November 28th (weather permitting). Please do not stop the mowers this Saturday to ask them to clean out your flower beds. This work will be handled at the end of the month.
Starting November 28th, Turfmasters will be here every Friday through December 12th to conduct major leaf cleanup in our neighborhood.
Please note that Turfmasters will not be coming next Friday, November 21st, but they will return on November 28th.
SHOUTOUT – 11/4/25 – LAWN MOWING THIS THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 6th
Turfmasters will be coming to mow our lawns this Thursday, November 6th, rather than waiting until next week. The weather has been warm and sunny, so our lawns are still growing. This added mow will also assist in removing leaves that have dropped over the past week. We still have many more leaves that will fall, so any additional mows will help keep up with the leaf removal process. As always, please pink-flag your lawns if you do not wish to have this mowing service on Thursday.
Our first Fall leaf-blowing service will be on November 28th, when they will blow out the garden beds surrounding our homes, followed by leaf pick up on our lawns.
SHOUTOUT – SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2025 – BLOWER USE ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2
This Tuesday, November 4th, the Township of Manchester Public Works will be coming to Whiting Station to pick up leaves and bundles of sticks tied together in 4-ft maximum lengths. The leaves and the sticks must be placed separately at the curb.
In order to accommodate our residents and this timeline, Sunday, November 2nd, and only this Sunday, we will temporarily allow the use of blowers to move the leaves to the curbs, between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM in the afternoon. Thank you for cooperation.
SHOUTOUT – FRIDAY, 10/31/25 – CLUBHOUSE PARKING
In anticipation of an influx of people and traffic we are expecting due to our Craft Fair on November 1st, we are requesting that all residents who have a vehicle parked in the Clubhouse parking lot please remove it by tonight (October 31st). As an accommodation, we are temporarily allowing overnight street parking for Friday and Saturday nights and any towing activities will be suspended during that period.
The Craft Fair runs from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM Saturday. Please enjoy and thank you for your cooperation.
SHOUTOUT – WEDNESDAY, 10/29/25 – TOWNSHIP PICK-UP OF LEAVES, BRANCHES/STICKS, GARDEN WASTE ON NOVEMBER 4TH
Please note that the Township of Manchester will provide leaf, branch/stick, and garden waste pick-up on Tuesday, November 4th. This pick-up service is a courtesy to all Manchester residents who wish to conduct their own cleanup of leaves, sticks, or garden waste on their property. If interested in taking advantage of this bi-annual service, the Department of Public Works asks that you abide by the following guidelines:
- You can begin dropping off your leaves, branches, or garden waste on Friday, October 31st. All botanical waste must be left only on one side and the edge of your main road. Do not drop off your waste on your finger (drop-offs can be on Morning Glory Lane, Gardenia Drive, Petunia Lane, Orchid Street, or Lily Court).
- Leaves and pine needles must be raked to the curb in an orderly row. Large vacuum trucks will be picking up this material. Therefore, on November 4th, all vehicles must be parked away from the leaf piles to expedite the process. Branches, sticks, or garden debris cannot be mixed with leaves, or the town vacuum will not pick up.
- Sticks and/or branches must be neatly piled (and tied) in parallel piles for easy pick-up. Branches or sticks cannot exceed 4 feet in length or 3 inches in diameter. Unmanageable branches or waste will not be picked up.
- Garden waste, clippings, or other vegetative waste must be placed in a separate container away from the leaves and branches. Large plastic bins or garbage cans are examples of containers to use. Large bushes or trees with roots will not be picked up.
If you have any questions, you can email Barbara Hubbard at lawncare.ws@gmail.com
SHOUTOUT – TUESDAY, 10/28/25 – CLUBHOUSE CLOSURE
Please be aware that as of Wednesday morning the 29th of October, the Whiting Station Clubhouse will be closed for all activities until Tuesday afternoon, November 4th. The HOA office will still be open to address any questions you may have via telephone; however, it will be closed this Friday, the 31st.
This is due to the setup and preparation for the annual Craft Fair on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Please come and shop the various vendors, the bake sale, and support the great efforts of our Residents Club!
Please keep in mind your key cards will not work until next Tuesday afternoon. Thank you for your cooperation.

Before I get to the message, Mike, the Architectural and Common Grounds Trustee, and I want to thank every one of the residents who has helped to make this project go smoothly by making sure that they’re not parking in the work areas or driving in the freshly applied material. Bravo everyone!
The project is due to be concluded on Monday. Gardenia Drive, from Lily Court to Morning Glory Lane by the Clubhouse intersection, will be closed on Monday. Of course, this is all dependent upon the weather. We will get a message out as quickly as we know, if the planned work must be postponed due to weather.
SHOUTOUT – FRIDAY, 5/2/25 – BINGO TONIGHT
Hello Whiting Station residents and all you bingo people! Good news, bingo is on for tonight, Friday evening. However, you can only enter and exit the parking lot from the entrance adjacent to the Station Hall sign due to the sealcoating project. Also note that the ramp on the front side of the building is likewise closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Therefore, please use only the rear Ballroom door when entering the building.
If Deb Cassens told you bingo was canceled, she was just kidding! Honestly, plans have changed.
Hope to see you there and I hope you win big!
There will also be private party tomorrow evening in the Ballroom. The clubhouse will be open during the event; however, as a reminder, it is requested whenever there is a private party, please use the front lobby door to enter the building.

SHOUTOUT – WEDNESDAY 4/9/25 – TOWNSHIP BRUSH / STICKS PICK-UP
This is a friendly reminder that the Township is conducting a courtesy brush and/or sticks pick-up tomorrow, Thursday, April 10th. They will pick up any neat piles of sticks, garden debris, or small brush as outlined on page 16 of our April issue of The Express. Many of you may say, “Why waste my energy when Turfmasters will be Spring cleaning my lawn next Friday, April 18th?” You are absolutely correct; Turfmasters will be performing their Spring blow out of your garden beds and Spring clean-up next Friday. However, for those who have the stamina and drive to keep our community clean and safe, please take this opportunity to check your surrounding wooded areas and remove any piles of sticks that are either an eyesore or are a potential fire hazard. Sticks or small branches must be stacked in neat parallel piles and be less than 3 inches in diameter and no longer than 4 feet in length. No bushes with roots will be picked up. Any botanical refuse must be left in consolidated piles on our main roads, not on our fingers. Also, please do not park your cars near these piles tomorrow so the workers can see what needs to be picked up and can get to them.
Thank you for your attention and have a great day.
SHOUTOUT – TUESDAY 4/8/25 – MANCHESTER TWP FIRE HYDRANT FLUSHING

Per their notice, flushing will occur both day and night, and hours will vary. During this time, you may experience a difference in pressure and discoloration. Run your cold water tap only until it runs clear. Thank you.

SHOUTOUT – SATURDAY 4/5/25 – POOL REPAIR SUNDAY NOISE
Hello Whiting Station residents. This message is on behalf of the Board of Trustees. Hopefully you’ve noticed the renovation of the pool is going along smoothly. This message is specifically to address the possibility that the contractors may be working tomorrow, April 6th, on the pool.
As we all know, power tools are not to be used on a Sunday as per our regulations. If the weather cooperates, the contractor has requested to work tomorrow for half a day in order to keep on schedule for our pool opening. As such, the Board has approved this request. We thank you for your understanding.
SHOUTOUT – FRIDAY 4/4/25 – COMMUNITY CLEANUP
Whiting Station will be holding a cleanup event at our Community entrances on Tuesday April 22, at 10:00 am. We will meet in the Clubhouse to get gloves, bags and safety vests; then pick up trash on the sides of Schoolhouse Road and Lacey Road immediately adjacent to our entrances.

Thank you for your participation!
SHOUTOUT – WEDNESDAY 3/26/25 – GARBAGE/RECYCLING
Hello Whiting Station residents. This message is on behalf of the Board of Trustees. We have had numerous windy days when recycling garbage has been blown all over the community because either the items were not in the proper recycling container or the container blew/fell over and the contents spilled out. When possible, please crush or cut up cardboard and place it into the recycling container. Recycling services are provided by Manchester Township and you may place recyclables curbside the night before the scheduled day; however, if the weather is windy, please do not put out the container until the morning of the pickup, if possible, or weigh the container down which will keep it from falling over. Additionally, if you see items on the street, please pick them up and dispose of them properly.
If you need additional clarification on trash and recycling, please refer to the Rules and Regulations provided to all homeowners in January; Chapter IV, Section 1-F.
Please be responsible and store all trash/recyclables properly, as we all want our community to look attractive even on garbage/recycling days.
Thank you.

SHOUTOUT – MONDAY 2/10/25 – SNOW EVENT TOMORROW NIGHT
Hello Whiting Station residents. This is Barbara Hubbard, HOA trustee for lawn and snow services. It looks like we will be expecting a significant amount of snow tomorrow night. Snow will begin around 4 PM Tuesday with heavy snow accumulations in the evening. We will likely be plowing either late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. I want to remind you that the plows will first clean our roads, followed by our driveways. For those who park in the Clubhouse lot, you can leave your cars in the lot so the crew can plow your driveway. However, once your driveway is plowed, it is important that you remove your car from the Clubhouse lot so the plows can clear the lot efficiently. If you park your car in your driveway, please pull up as close to your garage as possible so they can clear the snow that accumulates from plowing at the end of your driveway. Once all the plowing is complete, the workers will then hand shovel our sidewalks and front of our garages. Please remember that they will take care of all folks with medical necessity first. Have a good day and stay safe.

Starting on Sunday, January 26th items may be placed curbside on Main Streets only, there is NO placing items on finger streets ever. Items must be curbside no later than 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Thank you for keeping our Community a clean and inviting place to live.

SHOUTOUT – MONDAY 1/20/25 – BOARD MEETING REMINDER
Good afternoon Whiting Station residents. This message is from your Board of Trustees. As a reminder, the January Board Meeting is a live forum/meeting scheduled for tomorrow, January 21st starting at 7:00 p.m.
Due to the extremely cold weather predicted for tomorrow, the meeting may be modified to include a Zoom/simulcast portion. We will send a shoutout tomorrow if this change is added.
Stay warm!
SHOUTOUT – 01/08/25 – MEDICAL NECESSITY LIST
This is Barbara Hubbard, calling regarding the snow plowing service here at Whiting Station. I am in the process of updating our “Medical Necessity” list that we use during snowstorms. This list tells the plow workers who and where to plow first so that residents with a medical necessity have quicker access to medical services. If you or your loved one has a medical necessity and would like to put your name on this list, please call me at 973-879-4708. If leaving a voice message, please state that you would like to be on this list and leave your name and house number. You can also call the Clubhouse office.
SHOUTOUT – 01/06/25 – PLOWING ROADS AND FINGERS ONLY
This is Barbara Hubbard with a brief message to inform you that we decided to plow and salt our main roads and fingers tonight. Although less than 3 inches of snow fell today, we felt it best to remove as much snow from our roads as possible. The temperature will remain extremely cold this week so there will be minimal melting; we want to be proactive and salt our streets to prepare for another possible snowstorm next week. Please be aware that we will not be plowing our driveways tonight. For those parking in the clubhouse lot, please remove your cars, if possible, and park in your driveway or main road until our clubhouse lot is plowed. If your car is left in the lot during plowing, you may have an icy snow pile left in front of your car due to plowing. Thanks for your understanding.
SHOUTOUT – SATURDAY 1/04/25 – FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON
This is Barbara Hubbard, Trustee responsible for clearing snow after storms. It looks like we will get some snow on Monday, January 6th, so I would like to go over some key points regarding snow removal. If snow accumulation reaches 3 inches, we will have Turfmasters remove the snow from driveways, roads, sidewalks and clubhouse parking lot.
- Homes on the medical necessity list will be addressed first. If you have a medical need and are not on the list, please inform me via email or phone.
- Driveways will be cleared first by machine, followed later by hand shoveling against the garage doors. If your car is parked in the clubhouse lot, you can leave it there until your driveway is cleared. However, once the snow is removed from your driveway, you must retrieve your vehicle from the clubhouse lot and park in your driveway so the workers have access to the lot for clearing. During snow removal, no parking is allowed on main roadways (Gardenia, Petunia, Morning Glory, Orchid, Lily)
- If your car is parked in the driveway during snow removal, please pull your car as close to the garage as possible to allow the workers to remove any snow blocking your driveway (that was left from street plowing).
- Once all plowing is complete, workers will shovel residents’ driveways and front walkways.
- Salting of resident driveways and sidewalks is the resident’s responsibility.
A copy of our snow policy is available on our Whiting Station website under the “Homeowners Association” tab. Be safe and stay warm.
